6x optical zoom with optical Image Stabilizer
Optical Image Stabilizer technology counteracts the effect of camera shake, allowing you to work at slower shutter speeds in low light conditions. The 6x optical zoom affords framing flexibility with pin-sharp clarity.

DIGIC III with advanced Noise Reduction
Canon's DIGIC III image processor delivers outstanding high-speed camera performance, superior colour rendition and cleaner images at high ISO speeds. iSAPS technology uses shooting scene information to optimise camera settings before a shot is taken.

Face Detection AF/AE
Face Detection AF/AE ensures superb people shots by automatically detecting up to 9 faces within a frame and setting the optimum focus and exposure.

9-point AiAF and FlexiZone AF/AE
Enjoy greater versatility with a choice of focusing options - switch between manual focus, rapid 9-point AiAF, or FlexiZone AF/AE to manually select a specific auto focus point.

Large 2.5" LCD screen
With a low-reflection coating for sunny conditions, the large bright 2.5" LCD has a wide viewing angle for sharing playback. Night Display mode aids visibility in low light.

ISO 1600
A dedicated ISO dial allows fast selection of ISO speeds from 80 to 1600 for great performance in a range of lighting conditions and superb flash free results in low light.

Intuitive design
With a classic design, the PowerShot G7's analogue-inspired controls are positioned to fall naturally under your fingertips. The SLR-style Multi Control Dial and shortcut button give quick access to a range of settings and manual controls

Shooting Modes
25 shooting modes range from automatic to full manual control, including two custom settings for saving personal preferences. My Colors allows in-camera colour effects to be applied during or after shooting.

Safety Zoom and Digital Tele-Converter
Safety Zoom* offers extra zoom magnification without affecting image quality. Use the Digital Tele-Converter for added telephoto reach without a reduction in aperture.

Accessories
Compatible with Canon Speedlite flash accessories, the PowerShot G7 also has access to optional wide and tele converter lenses, a close-up lens and waterproof case (40m depth).
